| Description | Research shows that students master skills faster and retain them longer when they are actively involved in the learning process. Our signature small groups are designed to engage. Taught by expert tutors and capped at an 8 student maximum, this is an interactive environment that provides an opportunity to tackle tough questions outside the range of a standard SAT classroom curriculum. In addition to the 6 group sessions, each student benefits from 2 hours of one-on-one dedicated test review time with the group tutor. Meet the Tutor
Stella T.
Stella is a Premium Tutor who works with students who are preparing for the SAT, ACT and PSAT; she also tutors for private school admissions tests and some academic subjects. A Virginia native, Stella earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Georgia Tech. During her time at Virginia Tech, she served as an engineering intern for Dominion Power and Ford. Stella sees her tutoring style as student-centered and interactive; she says, "I like to get an understanding of how the student is interpreting the question or problem and talking through their struggles. I like to think of tutoring as a team effort where we work together to find the solution." When she isn't tutoring, you can find Stella hiking, doing DIY projects, and playing sports.
