College Bound, a full-service college counseling practice serves the needs of high school students by providing guidance throughout all phases of the college admissions process. During an initial consultation the counselor develops an in-depth understanding of the student’s unique abilities, academic learning style, personal characteristics, values, interests, work ethic, aspirations, and short and long-term goals. Our goal is to provide accurate, up-to-date, objective and personalized information about each student’s college process.

During follow-up appointments, the counselor will present a detailed college choice list, access and refine the student’s academic and extracurricular credentials, assist with high school course selections, plan for standardized testing and organize an optimal testing schedule, explore academic and related career interests, and explain, organize and assist in the application process. College Bound counselors also prepare students for interviews, offer guidance in applying for need and merit based financial aid, guide families in planning productive college visits, and inform students about creative summer activities, employment opportunities and internship programs.

By capitalizing on the student’s strengths, special talents and interests, College Bound provides services for students of all abilities, backgrounds, interests and skills.

The "Who" Behind College Bound

Shelley Levine, a Certified Educational Planner, has provided support and guidance for high school students and their parents navigating the college admissions process for more than 25 years. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Maryland, and a Certificate in College Counseling through UCLA. Founder of MATHWORKS, Shelley is also a well-recognized expert in the field of standardized test preparation. Shelley has been featured in the Potomac Gazette, Washington Jewish Week and on WTOP. Shelley has presented workshops on the college admissions process throughout the D.C. area at college fairs, local high schools, and to community organizations.

Jodi Siegel has been working in the college admissions field for over 12 years. As an Admissions Officer at The George Washington University, Jodi reviewed thousands of freshman and transfer applications for undergraduate admission. Jodi has valuable insight into the higher education landscape, specifically as to how applicant credentials can best be prepared and presented, and how they are evaluated by admissions personnel.

Chloe Rothstein served as an Assistant Director of Admissions at Johns Hopkins University for five years. During her time at Hopkins, she rendered decisions on over 1,000 freshmen and transfer applications each year and worked to "shape" each incoming class. Chloe also played a role in the admissions process of international and graduate students. Chloe has presented on panels at College Board, NACAC, and IECA. Recently Chloe was published in "SAT Wars," a book about the role of standardized testing in admissions. Chloe earned her Bachelor's degree from Stanford University and has completed graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.
