Online Proctor Instructions
The ATS Online Proctor system allows you to simulate the experience of taking a supervised mock test from anywhere that has an internet connection. All you need to use the system is:
- A quiet place to take the test. Tests like the SAT and ACT can take a few hours, so make sure you are undisturbed while using the Online Proctor.
- A copy of the test. This can come from The Official SAT Study Guide, The Real ACT Prep Guide or a variety of other sources. Contact us if you have questions about which test to take or for more test options.
- A copy of the answer sheet and a non-mechanical pencil. If you do not have an answer sheet, continue reading the instructions below for information on how to print one out. Record your answers on the answer sheet just like the real test. You will enter them online afterwards.
Once you have everything you need, you are ready to begin:
- If you have a book with tests in it, click the Select Test button. If you don't have a book, download the SAT or ACT test, click the Start Test button and skip to step 4.

- Select the tab for the type of test you are proctoring and then select the specific test. For each test type, your recommended test is in bold. If you are taking the test with extended time, make sure you select the correct option at the top of the popup. Once you have made your selection, click on the Online Proctor button at the bottom right of the popup.

- You should now see the Instructions page of the test. Take a moment to read this before beginning the test. We suggest you print out the instructions page in case you have a question later or you lose your internet connection and need to time yourself for the rest of the test. If you do not already have an answer sheet, click on the Download Answer Sheet button to download a printable PDF.

- When you are ready to begin, check off the Honor Pledge at the bottom of the Instructions page and click the Begin button. If you have speakers, an audible warning will occur 5 minutes prior to and also at the end of each section. Once the test is complete, you will have the option to enter your answers and get instant feedback. You can enter the answers at any time in the future by clicking on the Answer Sheet button at your account dashboard.
